Lots of eggs collected but nothing to transfer

Hi, this is my first time on one of these forums. We have male factor and started our first cycle of ivf icsi with fertility associates wellington about 17 days ago. The whole way, everything seemed to progress well. Their main concern was that I would get Ohss as I'm 28 and on the small side, and they retrieved 20 eggs. But I recovered nicely.

Today is Day 6 after egg collection. We were meant to have the transfer yesterday but they postponed it till today because apparently the embryos were not developing into blastocytes. Which apparently is very rare. Well. This morning they rang and said unfortunately my transfer would be cancelled because none of the embryos were suitable. NONE! Out of the 12 that were fertilised, not a single one!! We haven't had much information other than that and as you can guess, we are feeling devastated and stunned.

I feel very alone because I haven't come across this happening to anyone else. Throughout the process Dr and nurses were very optimistic because of my age and things are pretty normal on my end. This seems totally out of the blue. Has this happened to anyone else, or know what could have caused this? Our follow up with the dr is not for another week.

Trust me, this happens with many, personally I feel it is still better rather than getting a negative pregnancy test, bleeding or having an early miscarriage. Sending you positive vibes as this must be very frustrating for you.
