Need support please, starting my first IVF cycle in a week

Hello,
We have been trying to get pregnant for three years, and we have done 6 clomiphene cycles. Apparently, I react well to the drug but nothing else happens.
Nervous though because I will turn 40 in October.
We will give it a try with IVF. Any advice on what not to eat or sports not to be done? I am originally from Chile, so it is kind of hard to be all alone through this process. My husband is kiwi and his family is lovely. But feel like not sharing because if it doesn't work I do not want them to feel sad for me.
Would love to hear from you, crossing my fingers for good news.
Alexandra

re first IVF cycle

hey alexandra. i'm south african with a kiwi husband, so i know how it feels to be going through this without my immediate family as a support. that said, i feel like if you make it clear that you don't want sympathy, husband's family will have a better idea of how to interact with you, without thinking you are an angry, crazy or uptight person! i'm pretty new to this, been trying for two years, 8 clomiphene cycles, now on first IUI. turning 35 in june so even though i'm not as close to 40 as you are, i still feel like i have that age sword dangling over me! my saving grace has been my husband, and we have really embraced the benefits of open, honest communication about what we're going through! it is certainly not an easy road, but it is always a comfort knowing you're not alone in your struggle.

Thanks AndyD, your words were very kind and made me feel better. I guess I am so scared that I am shutting down everyone around me. Thanks once again because it really helped and it was so nice to get a message from someone who truly understands how hard it is. I wish you all the best, always positive and take care.

Hi Alexandra,

Was wondering how your first procedure went. Our IUI was unsuccessful and we have to wait another month as I had to have a cervical polyp removed. I found the procedure for IUI quite traumatic, so I'm hoping your IVF went better!

If you'd like to keep in touch via email, my address is aphitidis@gmail.com

Take care,
Andy

Hi Alexandra

I saw your post, and as it is a couple of months on, I wondered how you were getting on? Did you go ahead with the ivf? I hope you are finding all the support that you need. It is very stressful having to go down the fertility treatment road.
