Couple Searching for an Egg Donor

Hi,

We are a couple in our early 30s looking for an egg donor. We are Canadian and NZ European, active and outgoing, and super passionate about skiing, snowboarding and being in the mountains. We have purchased our first home together - a new apartment in Hobsonville, Auckland - and are excited to begin the next chapter of our lives.

We are looking for a very special woman age 20 to 35. We are open minded to who our donor could be, as long as they are healthy. We would be happy to meet with any potential donors, and are also open to the possibility of future contact, or not as the case may be.

We have been allocated public funding to Repromed, and hope to start trying for a family as soon as the funding comes through early next year. Due to our diagnosis of premature ovarian failure, finding an egg donor is our only option to have a family.

Our story will be shared by Fertility NZ during Fertility Week 2018, as we are both passionate about spreading awareness around infertility. You are welcome to read the attached story to learn more about us as a couple and our journey, and ask any questions you may have.

Thank you for your kind words of support.

It has not been easy sharing our journey so publicly, but we both believe it is important to increase awareness for what is a largely unknown condition.

Hi Heloisa,

That is very kind of you. We are very interested and would love to discuss the possibility of you being our donor.

We have funding allocated through Repromed to cover IVF treatment, but this does not become available until early next year.

Rob's email address is snorob@gmail.com if you would like to chat some more.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Re: Couple Searching for an Egg Donor

Hi Sasha, have you found anyone to donate? I am 28 years old living in chch looking at the options to donate. I have 1 year old identical twin girls and only wanted two children so we have completed our family and I am now considering options to help someone else do the same

Re: Couple Searching for an Egg Donor

Hi Sasha and Rob,

I've come across your post as my wife and I have been searching for fertility solutions ourselves. I would be interested in helping with egg-donation, however, I wouldn't be the most conventional egg-donor! Perhaps you could consider me a back-up option if the others fall through.

I am a 29-year-old transgender guy - that means I was born female and transitioned to male as I feel more comfortable this way. I still have all my original reproductive organs. I'm taking testosterone injections which decrease my fertility, though this would most likely reversible if I were to take a break from the testosterone. I have no interest in carrying a pregnancy myself (though technically I probably still could) but would be open to considering egg-donation.

I am of NZ European background, have brown hair and hazel-green eyes. I am about 5 foot 6 in height and have always been a slim build. I am a medical doctor and have always done well academically. I enjoy the outdoors and keeping active (have just learned how to ski myself actually!). I don't have any major medical illness or genetic issues in the family (would be happy to go over my full medical history with you). I would also be happy to share photos of myself (including as a child and prior to my gender transition) if you are interested in discussing this further.

I wish you all the best with your journey to starting your family.

Kind regards,
Nick
