Re: San Diego for IVF

Hi Skeno1,

We picked SD as after 8 yrs TTC here in NZ using an egg donor overseas was going to be our last shot & San Diego Fertility Centre has one of the best success rates in the world.

Whilst SD is def not the cheapest way to go....we would whole heartedly recommend them & now have a beautiful 4 mth old daughter thanks to them.

If you are considering going down this path, then def look at SDFC as an option.

Re: San Diego for IVF

Hi
I am new (and nervous) on this forum. Due to my age my only option is e.d. IVF and preference is overseas. Have been looking at European centres (as I am from European ethnicity) and also the SDFC, as recommended by FA NZ.
So, can you give me more information about your experience with the SDFC?
Time frame, costs (one of our main current obstacles) etc etc?
Many thanks
Any information / support will be appreciated.

Hi NB96,

Welcome smiling

I was completely new to forums & like you very nervous when I first logged onto one & found out about SDFC a couple of years ago and now sitting here with our gorgeous daughter I have absolutely no regrets about the decision to go to SD.

I would highly recommend you contacting SDFC for a no obligation phone conference to explore your options. Also this is the link to the forum that many of us that have been to SDFC were on that is absolutely full of info, advice & both heart warming & heart breaking stories to both inspire you & remind you that you are not alone.

http://kiwihealthpregnancyandparenting.co.nz/topic/22868-san-diego/...

I can't quite remember the exact cost for us in the end (we are in a small rental house at the mo waiting for our new house to be built so all the info is packed away), but from memory I think it was around $70k for absolutely everything (flights, accom, treatment both here in NZ & SD for both visits. We ended up going other twice as our first cycle failed, but were so lucky to have success 6 mths later.

The whole process is fairly quick, depending on how you respond to the mock cycle & how long it takes you to select a donor (we found this the hardest part).

All in all, we found SDFC to be extremely professional & compassionate & would not hesitate to recommend them.

If you have any other questions or anything please just ask.

Best of luck!
