Hi Dillon. I was beginning to wonder the same thing! Hubby and I are doing our 2nd round of IVF at the moment. Have my first scan tomorrow to see how egg production is coming along.

My advice for you on the first time around with the Stimulating hormones is be kind to yourself! Rest when you need to and cry when you want too. I just keep reminding myself it's the hormones....I'm not going crazy!

Good luck.

Re: 2017

Great advice zerock.
Hope your scan went well? How's it all going Dillon?
With myself I'm battling low ahm levels resulting in not good quality embryos. I'm 32 and my ahm level is 9.1 in 2011 when I did my second round I was 8.7 (bonus it's gone up) Dr mark stegman advised donor egg but I personally felt I was not ready to give up on myself which brings me now just starting our 3rd round. I'm due to start taking pill tomorrow. I have every hope this for will be my last round as we pray this time works

Re: 2017

Hi guys! I am doing my first round of IVF presently and have my first scan tomorrow. On Buserelin and Gonal F. Feeling excited, nervous and scared about things not working out as I want and losing hope. Such a roller coaster! Had a killer headache yesterday. But paracetamol helped take the edge off....and a nana nap!!

Best wishes to all of you smiling

Hey everyone
We started our 1st round at the beginning of this year. Started Gonal F injections 6 days ago Did my first scan this morning and was told that I had 10 follicles. Don't know what to make of that it, is that good or bad. Have another scan in 4 days. Trying to hard to be optimistic.

Re: 2017

Hi Everyone,
I am down to start treatment in April, and I am freaking out just a little. Not sure how I am going to handle it. I have this crazy fear of needles, and every time I think about injecting myself I want to cry. Then there are the blood tests expressionless Do any of you ladies have any words of wisdom? What has helped you? Should I get some Emla cream?

Re: 2017

Hi Tella, you have nothing to fear. I started my injections on Friday and was very nervous about doing them. But the needles are nice and small which does help. What I found help is numbing the area with an ice block for a few seconds before hand. I also found that reminding myself why as to I am doing this is an even greater motivation to get over my fear. Be strongsmilingsmiling...it will be worth it in the end.

Re: 2017

Hi Tella! We are currently in the 2ww, I have to agree with PHDH. I used to think I had a needle phobia, but this process has made me immune! The self-injections were one of the easiest parts of this process. I also figure anyone going through IVF is a crazy tough human - if you can deal with infertility you can tackle anything. At the same time, take it easy and look after yourself. It's ok if the first injection takes you an hour! (Also, I found it way easier to give myself the injection rather than my husband - but that's just me)

PHDH - 10 is a pretty good number! There may be some little tiny ones in there they are not counting. The next ultrasound will give you a better idea of what to expect. Also - my doctor spent a lot of time explaining that quality is more important than quantity.

Shazza/Short/Zerock - how are you going?

Re: 2017

Have my egg collection tomorrow. Feeling so many emotions right now, nervous, anxious, excited, and relieved. Was getting really frustrated with the bloating and the discomfort but I know it will be worth it in the end. Will have to have a frozen cycle as my cervix needs to be dilated before we can proceed. Does make me feel very desponded as I now have to wait before this can be done and it can take another up 2-4 months. Trying my utmost to be optimistic and positive.

Thanks dillon - I think I will find it easier to inject myself too, not sure I trust my husband with sharp objects surprised

PHDH - All the best for your collection today, will be thinking of you! Hopefully you have some super chill time planned for afterwards x

Hi Short,
Not long now before I start the pill ( end of next week I think! ) Starting to feel more excited than how I felt before. I think I just needed to come to a place of acceptance that this was really happening, lol.
Have you started the injections yet?

Re: 2017

Hi Tella,
Not long at all to go smiling Hope you looking after yourself
Yes I'm well into my cycle now, I'm on day 37 since starting the pill.
The injections have been fine tummy only a little bruised - I'm finding the blood test more daunting as they seem to miss my veins nearly every time.
Today we had our first scan and found 20 follies (10 each side) with 11 measureable from 10mm - 14mm.
My blood test estrogen levels today were 1769 so they're going up fast
Have another blood test and scan on Monday.
Feeling very bloated now tho which is uncomfortable :/
Overall feeling good and positive smiling
