Hi there
I'm 39 & had a routine op to remove a uterine polyp after 3 years TTC....turns out I have severe endo & blocked tubes. So now looking at IVF.
Has anyone had this diagnosis?

Re: Infertility caused by endo
Hi Jaime,
i also had a lap done, which confirmed mild endo stage 1-2 after 3ish years of ttc. This was last year so we were put straight onto fertility associates wellington and we've been on the public funding list for almost a year now. We are due to start ivf icsi early February, so very nervous and excited put together. Where abouts in the country are you and has a referral been sent for you to fertility associates?
We also have other probs, my partner has antisperm antibodies which is why we were put straight for icsi. Wishing you all the best of luck and look forward to hearing from you.

Re: Infertility caused by endo
Hi Hanna
We went to fertility plus in nov last year, but were initially told that we probably wouldn't qualify as we hadn't been trying long enough & didn't have obvious signs of infertility (I didn't know about my endo or tubes, just had what I thought were normal painful/heavy periods).
Got referred for the test where they put the dye in the tubes, but couldn't do it due to my difficulty placed cervix...the ultrasound scan picked up a polyp. My cervix specialist recommended removal, which has lead me to the op this week & the surprise diagnosis of severe endo & blocked tubes. My specialist will send info to fertility plus & hopefully we will qualify for public funding. I've been told they have a year wait, so things won't be happening for a while. Fortunately I have a good egg reserve so least that will help.
Exciting about your journey! Wishing you all the best. Not long now

Re: Infertility caused by endo
Hi Jaime,
sorry for the late reply. It sounds as though you will definitely qualify for public funding given you have severe endo and blocked tubes. My gp exaggerated at bit on how long we'd been trying. She said you get further if you exaggerate things a bit ☺.
I think it is a standard 12mth wait in most places, but it does vary between cities. Ours was a 12mth wait and we are with Wellington. I cant quite believe we are doing ivf next month! Sounds crazy.. so very nervous but trying to stay positive. We are going to try acupuncture during egg collection, thought it cant do any harm! We have our appointment next week to learn what the plan is, so I will keep you in the loop

Re: Infertility caused by endo
I'm very excited for you! Acupuncture definitely will be a nice complimentary treatment when going through the IVF procedure. I'd also recommend looking up 'Motherwell' on Google...they are a naturopaths & do a IVF support protocol which prepares the uterine environment to be receptive to the embryo/s. They're in auckland but I'm pretty sure they have consultants nz wide.
I'll be looking at doing that when my time comes.
Yeah I've heard the wait is a year....a friend of a friend went through fertility associates in Hamilton & got told it was a year wait, but had the call up 4 mths later. She had blocked tubes as well...so I don't know if severity determines how far up the list you jump.
My dr also said tell them you've been trying for AGES...but didn't specify length of time. At that stage I needed to have said 5 years, as I didn't know about the endo or tubes. But got all flustered at the meeting & told the truth haha.
