Hi everyone smiling

Just wanting to know before my first fertility appointment on July the first (Very anxious btw) Does having low progesterone levels effect the chances of IVF? My levels are considerable low around the 1.7. If anyone could help by shedding some light on this that would help ease my nerves alot!!

Thanks

Tash

Re: Low Progesterone

Progesterone is important for the process of implantation and early pregnancy development. During an in vitro fertilization (IVF) cycle, medications are usually used to prevent you from releasing an egg early (premature ovulation). These medicines affect your progesterone levels. In cycles of IVF progesterone supplementation is routinely used, because the natural production of progesterone is suppressed.

If your levels are low, there are many options available to make up for the deficit like progesterone creams, suppositories etc. I am sure your FS would be analysing your reports carefully and would suggest you the suitable treatment as and when necessary.
