Where do I start...

I am 34 and my wonderful DH is 35. We have been happily together for 15 years. End of 2003 when we both graduated from University we decided it would not be such a bad time form to come of the pill and see what happened. Well 2 years later there was nothing, we then went to see a FS who immediately started me on Clomid. After the first round of clomid I fell Pregnant! We were so happy we virtually shouted it from the top of the as soon as we found out. However our happiness was short lived and I miscarried at 11 weeks. I would say it was from here that the journey really started.Soon after the MC I had a Lap/Dye and discovered I had mild endometriosis. My DH also found out he had a low count and motility. I went through a further 5 rounds of clomid with no sucess. We then tried 3 rounds of IUI also with no success. Throughout all of this were living in the UK and unfortuanately we were not entitled to funded IVF until I reached 31 however we decided to emigrate to NZ when I was 30.
As sson as we moved to NZ we seen a FS and discovered we would be entitled to funded IVF but only once we had residency which was not until 2012. 2012 came and was probably one of the worst years of our lives. In Feb 2012 we started the Billing Method and straight away after one cycle I fell pregnant. Then at 6 weeks due to pain we found out I had a blighted ovum and had a D&C. We carried on and waited for our first appt with the FS to find out re. IVF. However, in October I fell pregnant again, we could not believe it we were given a second chance and 2 miracles in one year!! Then at the end of Oct I was rushed into hospital with the worst pain imaginable, I had an ectopic and lost a tube. WHY?? was all we could ask, why are we being punished like this!! Here we are now, stronger for it all and grateful to each other for having each other. I love my DH dearly and what will be will be. We are now awaiting IVF which will hopefully be around November time.

Oh my goodness LornaMJ, you have been through such heartbreak!

I admire how you can reflect on how your long journey to motherhood has made you and your DH stronger. You have been very brave. Best wishes for ivf in November and fingers crossed that things will happen for you before then.

My DH have been TTC for over three years now. I have severe endo so that appears to be hindering our progress. We have had one unsuccessful iui over Summer and are lined up for ivf also in November.

Watching and waiting is so hard! Pretty daunted about ivf too to be honest, but at least our iui helped me get used to injecting myself etc.

Hi Angel sorry you have also been finding this journey hard. We will have to keep each other updated, would be great to have an IVF buddy to share this with. Which FA center will you be with?

FA

We are with ChCh as living in Nelson. Not heard anything yet only what the funding co-ordination can tell me over the phone. Everyday I am checking the mail box hoping the letter is in there confirming dates. Have you heard anything yet or just what you have been told?

I haven't heard anything from the clinic but talking to other people, I expect to get some paperwork early July? Then begin preparation of some sort in August? Will let you know if I hear otherwise!
