Hey I have pcos, irregular periods since I first got it and am 26 yrs old, I started on clom and had 4 attempts with nil response to any .
I was then given 4 cycles of funded iui with puregon first one I started on 50 had no response I was then put on 75 and had a successful pregnancy (baby boy who is now 3)
I then went on to do the 3rd cycle and it got to day 24 and my est started dropping so told unsuccessful
I then did the 4th cycle and had one follicle 24mm day 16 and they done inseam and sent us hm said to hav intercourse over next few days waited for two week preg test negative , so we then went on to the fifth cycle where we now had to pay for this over $3000after all drugs etc not including travel and motel costs and I ended up with 5-6 follicles and told cycle had to be cancelled this has all just happened today I don't understand how I can make one follicle one cycle then 5-6 next time round on the exact same dosage just wondering if anyone else has had this experience and what you have done weather u have just gone onto having ivf, I also felt like saying there and then to just take my follicles out and do ivf there and then while the eggs r there
I do also have a 7year old whom I got preg natural with and told absolute miracle
And I also live 2hr away from Hamilton where I have to drive almost daily for bloods and scans
Anyone in similar situation to me I would love to hear from

Re: PCOS
Hey, how about taking break for few days? Don’t consider yourself a quitter, it is just that infertility is very hard to cope with and when you suffer from a failed IVF cycle, it sucks more. Get some time for yourself to refresh. Not all clinics and fertility specialist and equally trained and experienced, consider changing or switching to better one if you think you are not getting 100% from them.
There are other options to try, such as donor eggs and ZIFT or zygote intra-fallopian tube transfer or GIFT (gamete intra-fallopian tube transfer). Finally, just accept the fact that the reasons are sometimes difficult to ascertain and explain why.

Re: PCOS
Hi Nicola, just wondering how you’re getting on? I echo the advice given by Liam.
Take a break considering other factors like your age, finance and health. This will give you a chance to replenish not only your body but a mind as well.
