Endometriosis and Fertility

March is International Endometriosis Awareness Month. Endometriosis is a common inflammatory disease estimated to affect 176 million individuals worldwide in their reproductive years and 120,000 in New Zealand. Symptoms usually include period pain, pelvic pain, sub-fertility, or infertility.

Simon is based in Wellington and sees fertility and gynaecology patients at Fertility Associates. He also works at Wellington Public Hospital, is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Otago and is a clinical advisory committee member for Endometriosis New Zealand.
