ACART Consultation: posthumous reproduction
The Advisory Committee on Assisted Reproductive Technology (ACART) advises the Minister of Health on matters concerning assisted reproduction. They have been working on guidelines which could allow people to use the gametes, stored embryos or reproductive tissue of a deceased person in fertility treatment in the event that the deceased person had consented to this proceeding.
The proposed guidelines are available here: https://consult.health.govt.nz/acart/proposed-guidelines-for-posthumous-use/
ACART is seeking feedback on the proposed guidelines on or before Wednesday 9th September 2020.
