Cardiff Fertility Studies Group seek survey participants
THANK YOU to everyone who responded to Cardiff's request for survey participants. This survey has now closed.
Cardiff Fertility Studies Group is seeking to understand how people who don't meet their parenthood goals adjust, so that supporting interventions can be developed.
This research project is testing out the Three Tasks Model of Adjustment to Unmet Parenthood Goals, as proposed in a study earlier this year (Gameiro, S., & Finnigan, A. (2017). Long-term adjustment to unmet parenthood goals following ART: a systematic review and meta-analysis. Human Reproduction Update, 23(3), 322-337.). This suggests that people who do not meet their parenthood goals will adjust better to this by engaging in acceptance of the situation, making meaning of their lives, and pursuing new goals.
This study received ethical approval from the Ethics Committee of the School of Psychology- Cardiff University.
We are looking for people who have not had as many children as they would like OR have not been able to have children, to take part in a survey about adjusting to not being able to realise parenthood goals. This will hopefully have real life implications, as findings could help with aftercare support when realising you cannot have all the children you wish.
The survey will take 25 minutes, and if you choose to enter your email address, you will enter a prize draw to win one of four £50 Amazon vouchers. The link to the survey is below:
