Experiences with endometriosis and/or PCOS in Aotearoa New Zealand
Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) and endometriosis are two common conditions affecting many individuals in our community. While these two conditions are known to co-occur, no research has been conducted to understand how they interact and the consequences this can have.
We are looking for participants for a study that begins to untangle PCOS and endometriosis. We’d like to hear from you if you have been diagnosed with PCOS and/or endometriosis, are 18 years of age or over and living in Aotearoa New Zealand and are willing to tell us about your experience with PCOS and/or endometriosis. The study will involve an anonymous 20-minute online survey and ask you a range of questions about your experiences, symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment.

Why are we conducting this study?
Endometriosis and PCOS are two very common diseases affecting many individuals in our community. Despite evidence these two conditions can co-occur, there are no studies to date that have specifically addressed the intersection of endometriosis with PCOS and the resulting impacts on the experience of living with one or both diseases.
What do we hope to achieve?
The aim of this project is to examine the intersection of these conditions through an anonymous online survey. The survey asks a series of questions related to an individuals’ experience of symptoms, diagnosis and management of endometriosis and/or PCOS as well as questions related to menstrual characteristics. We aim to use this survey as a stepping-stone towards establishing an ongoing biopsychosocial research programme to examine the intersection of these conditions.
