Study on diet and time to pregnancy
A 12-week study of trying-to-conceive obese women compared the impact of a standard dietary intervention (SDI) and a very-low-energy diet (VLED). Weight loss was 3.1% in the SDI group and 11.9% in the VLED group. Time to pregnancy was significantly shorter in the women in the VLED group, showing the a positive impact of weight loss when trying to conceive.
